Louth Rural Transport Programme

 

Louth was recently selected as one of four new areas in Ireland to prepare a plan for the Rural Transport Programme.  Following submission of a three year plan, Louth was approved funding for the Rural Transport Programme in July 2008.

 

Applications are now invited for an experienced person for the following full-time position:

 

Rural Transport Co-ordinator

 

This is a challenging position requiring an understanding of community development and rural transport issues and the ability to work with a wide range of organisations and communities to implement a transport programme for rural areas in Louth.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of transportation issues
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and computer literacy skills
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and a capacity to work on own initiative
  • Track record of working with community and statutory organisations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A background in transport and/or logistics would also be advantageous.
