MIA MULLEN JEWELLERY, Anavera, Ravensdale, Dundalk, Co. Louth
Grant: €2,214

Mia Mullen is a designer and silversmith. She sells and exhibits in Belfast, Dublin and Kilkenny, as well as in the UK. In 2000 she won Second Prize at the RDS Contemporary Irish Craft and Design Awards under the category ‘Gold, Silver and other metals’. In order to expand her business, Mia needed specialist equipment to allow her to produce jewellery at a faster rate and to improve the quality of the finish on her pieces. Accordingly, she applied for Louth Leader for a grant, was successful and is continuing to build a thriving business. Her unique jewellery uses a combination of precious and semi-precious materials and she creates corporate gifts and bespoke jewellery for private commissions.
