JEB Teacher’s Diploma in IT

The Joint Examining Board (JEB) Diploma is a qualification for delivering IT training.

To gain the Diploma you will need to complete:

1    The generic teaching module; Education Principles and Practice (EPP)
2    The specialist ICT teaching module; Education Practice: ICT Skills(ICTS)

The Generic Teaching Module:

Covers the teaching and learning context, learning theories and principles,
teaching strategies and methods, assessment, managing teaching and
learning and developing own practice.

Assessed by

a one and a half hour examination
two hours of teaching experience (plus 2 hours of ICT teaching )

The specialist ICT Teaching Module:

Covers understanding and managing the ICT learning environment,
preparing practical ICT learning materials, and completing a teaching
project, comprising a scheme of work, session plans, and accompanying
materials for an hour’s teaching.

Assessed by

two resources for teaching ICT concepts
questions on a case study
3 practical ICT teaching resources
a teaching project including 2 hours observed teaching practice in ICT *
