LearnIT offers a service where we bring training opportunities to rural dwellers of the county. We run IT courses from beginner’s through to more advanced, as well as digital camera and personal development courses. The courses are run at our training centre in Ardee and also at Outreach locations. All courses are free to eligible participants.
Ardee Training Facility
Louth LEADER's training room in Ardee has 10 PCs with broadband connection. Here you can take part in a range of classes. The classes are very practical and because of the small class sizes it is an ideal, friendly atmosphere to gain some confidence in IT. Check out the timetable for a full list of courses.
You can also avail of the FAS eCollege online training service which offers the ECDL (European Computer Driving License) course. The online training allows the student to study in their own time over the internet. Then when you are ready to sit an exam this can be easily arranged and held in the Ardee training room.
Outreach Service
LearnIT also provides an Outreach service. This is where laptops and trainers are brought to rural areas. In this way people can train locally without having to travel. The courses are held in community centres which have broadband. Check out our timetable for a list of courses and current locations. If you would be interested in a course coming to your community and you know of a suitable venue please contact us.
